After spending hours digging through posts, I should probably do the whole introduction thing right?
Late spring this year I laid my hands on a neglected 1982 Honda CM 250C. Two months of fighting to get the title straight and three carb cleanings later it screams! (Well, for a 250...) Never really been all that interested in motorcycles until I had one... Strange?
A guy a work with brought up the topic of turning it into a cafe racer, and after looking... I'm hooked.
I haven't really made much progress in cafe racer direction yet. Just recently got the last of the holes in the gas tank soldered shut, new tires and a chain, etc. Just been way to much fun running around on it to tear it down. But now with cold weather coming - the real fun begins!
I've finally managed to settle on my first mod... Completely new electronics. Not the off the shelf kind, but new timing / CDI / gauges etc based around an Atmel AVR micro-controller. I'm only about halfway through the schematics stage, but I will be starting a thread...
