I just wanted to check in and introduce myself. I'm Ney and I'm 45. I'm embarassed to say that I have no riding experience. Two years ago my father-in-law gave me a 1981 Honda C70 Passport with 1,4XX miles and a 1976 Honda CB360T with only 151 miles on it. Time for working on these bikes is scarce as I have two beautiful little girls, 4 and 2. I finally got the C70 running late last Fall and I have to say it is quite a satisfying feeling to bring a bike back to life after it had been sitting in a garage for over 20 years.

I got hooked on cafe racers when I started looking for information on the CB360T. I do have a game plan -- finding the time to carry it out is the hard part.

To give you an idea where I want to go with this bike, here is my pile of parts:

Clubman bars
Suzuki GS450 gas tank
CL360 Scrambler exhaust
11" short shocks
Honda RC51 rearsets

Here's some pics of my bike:

I'm currently cleaning the carbs and rebuilding the master cylinder and caliper. It's amazing how nasty things can get from sitting for over 25 years.

I have a 2000 Mustang GT that's a lot of fun to drive, but is getting neglected as I spend more time behind the wheel of the minivan these days. I also love guns and try to get out to the range whenever I can.

I'm glad to be here and in awe of the talent you guys possess.

Cheers

Hey Welcome aboard!!!...
The cb360 is a great starting point for a cafe racer. You may also want to add a CAfe racer seat on the bike as well!!..

Good luck on the project!!.. Keep posting pics!!

Thanks for the welcome, locOleoN.

Funny, it was your post explaining how you made a metal cafe racer seat that drew me to this site. You don't know how much thought I had put into coming up with an easy way to make a seat hump. It really inspired me because I have an extra seat pan and gas tank just waiting to be cut up. Once I get underway, I plan to start a thread on my cafe racer seat in the proper forum.

Thanks for a great website.

LOL!!... Hey no problem.. Post some pics of the seat that you put together.
Just an FYi.. Some people were wondering how to fill the front of teh hump...
I'll let you know how I did it with that solid frey shop floor foam that you get at home depot.
Im glad that you find the site helpful!!.. let everyone else know!!..

Cheers

Welcome.
I like where your going with your CB. I had two CB350s years ago, and wish I had held onto one now. :(

I have a set of VF1000R footpegs that might work well on your bike. Their a one bolt mount, and the brake linkage would work well with a drum brake as trhe connection on the lever is on the top which could pull the brake bar, whereas on my disc brake set up, It'd be difficult setting up the master cylinder.
Here's a pic, $30 plus shipping for the two if your interested (just let me receive the other rearsets I've ordered before I get rid of these (about a week)).

Hi,
Thanks for the welcome. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, I've been distracted with a recent acquisition so I haven't been able to do too much with the CB360.

Thank you for your offer. I'm tempted, but I'm going to have to pass for now because I aleady bought some RC51 rearsets for my bike. The thought of just one bolt seems a lot easier than mounting the RC51 rearsets.

Cheers

Well the VF pegs have been spoken for. Should have known there be a flood of requests.
