Welcome to the site Heavies. I'm trying to remember if we have any other members living in Hawaii, can't think of any at the moment. What bike(s) do you have?

I am currently working on an '81 cb900f. I am cafe/scrambler/brattting it out. Couldn't decide on one or the other, so I am trying to meld the two styles into one.... if that makes any sense. Hehe. With the terrible roads (which is damn near offroading) we have here, I wanted the high clearence and semi dual sport type look, yet the fast lines of a cafe type racer.
I have seen some cafe/vintage type machines here and there, but it hasn't got too popular as of yet. Which is why I decided to get away from the chopper/harley scene. Gotta be different, needsd something new.
I am also trying to keep the buget as low as possible and use budget tooling whenever possible to achieve my build. I am probably going to keep the patina as much as possible. I don't want a shiney chrome ball, that needs to be wiped down with a baby diaper every day... I want a useful fuctional machine, that can be ridden every day..
