Ah! Congrats bro! No worries. Marriage is awesome.. been married for 4 years and blessed! Let me know when she lets you free up. Not that I need help, just want a like minded individual that loves motorcycles. Keep in touch.

Thanks dude, glad to hear that. Ill give you a shout as the riding season unfolds, that's why I'm trying to bang this out asap lol jk

So regarding paint, if anyone is interested in NYC or Long Island feel free to reach out to my guy for MC parts (or cars, his specialty), he does amazing work (and is a fellow ADV rider):

So remember the saddle bags I mentioned made for the GT250? I know a lot of you guys on this board are too cool for saddle bags, but I like them, and they are great for long rides (which I love to do) so I picked them up today:

Well would you look at this:

Made by Shoei and 100% fiberglass

Ill be getting the brackets powder coated black and installing them eventually. Ill have to repaint the bags, ill probably go flat black. The hinges need to be redone and re-riveted so ill eventually get to that as well.

Got my painted parts back, the pictures don't do them justice, they came out great! Can't wait to clean the bike up more and put them on.

The paint was matched perfectly and I decided that instead of sourcing the old push in emblems I would use the later model ones but with double sided tape as the screw holes don't line up. I have the screws so I will cut the heads off and super glue them in.

And I have all these parts to install:

The front springs are shot, so I'm throwing in some cheap progressive springs for now and some fresh oil & new seals.

Do you have your own garage?

No, this is my friends moto shop in Queens.

I just got my own private garage last week which I'm excited for, sick of street parking 2 bikes (and soon 3).

Nice progress so far. I'll keep an eye on your posts.
I'm jealous that you got your paint done already, that's nearly the last thing on the list for my GT.

Nice! I wish I had a garage or a friend with a shop. I have to do all my work in the freezing balls cold.

It took a few years and getting to know a lot of people in the bike world as I'm not a local, but people are very friendly here in the city (moto community). I used to do the same for a long time:

Just need the front brake master cylinder, new air filter, and a few odds and ends and she should be good to go. All the other stuff is cosmetic.

Someone is selling one of these bikes in Minnesota for 350 bucks and I had thought about it.. I was like... man... that would be a fun little bike, then I have to slap myself and say... FINISH THE ONE YOUR WORKING ON !! So.. I am passing it up! :-( It sucks passing up other bikes, or deals... just to focus on the one. Your product looks great and fun. Good luck!

Go for it anyway! hehe thanks man

Just got back from bachelor party, it was sick. And the best part is I had a bunch of packages waiting for me when I returned.

Received a new headlight, headlight brackets, NOS gas cap, Nissin master and the mechanic has the new lines sitting in the shop. The bike is now registered and insured and with a beautiful Antique Florida plate. The bike should hopefully be out this week.
