Hey, my name is Chris I recently bought a '73 Honda CB 350 that is in great shape waiting to be cafe'd out. I was able to score it for a great price. I am new to the project thing but luckily most of what needs to be done is just cosmetic. Although I do need to sync the carbs and adjust the timing. So that should be a fun first project.

I have been bicycle mechanic for years, started working my 2 stroke moped (2t's seemed simple enough), and getting ready to take on the motorcycle. I am sure I will have plenty of novice questions in the near future, I will try to do my research, but any help will be greatly appreciated.

Here is a picture of the bike now.

Welcome to DTT. I'm fairly new To the forum as well. She's a nice looking bike Chris. Enjoy riding her a little before you tear her down. Any specific ideas where you're heading with this project? I have a '70 CB350 myself that I need to get running. But I'm looking forward to making her look sleek and bad ass once she does...

I know I want to slim it down a bit. So the side plastics will come off, the seat will be swapped, and the fenders will most likely come of as well. I would like to mount the tail light in the seat. I most likely will ditch the blinkers and just hand signal but I am not sure. The bars will get lowered too. As far as the tank I am not sure what I will do there. I like the vintage color scheme but the picture is kind, up close there are dings and nicks. Nothing major but we will see.

I hear ya about the tank. I am always a little torn between using the vintage tank and color scheme, and doing something altogether different. In my case, the PO painted over the two toned tank. I'm still thinking it over.

Like I said I am new to this. So newb questions numero uno. With my Garelli Moped the front fender was also a brace for the forks, is that the same situation with this cb350? If so I am right in assuming there is a stabilizer plate/brace I can just replace the fender with?
