new to bikes
Hi everybody.
My name's Melissa and I'm from Petoskey, MI. I purchased my first motorcycle last summer for $500 and it is a learning experience. That bike is a 1981 Yamaha xs400. I practiced riding last summer (2013) and getting comfortable with shifting, etc. I think I'm getting the hang of it. I was given another bike, a 1980 Honda cm400t. It needed a carb adjustment right off the bat and a battery. I realized that it also has a small rust area on the tank around wear it meets the seat. I don't have a clue how to fix it nor do I know of any other tanks (from other Hondas or other bikes all together) that would work in lieu of that one. The rust hole/crack is making it leak a very small amount of fuel. So that is my project at the moment. I will probably have many questions as I go. I see all of the pictures you all post and I think that's just incredible... someday I'll get to that point. For now, I'm just a girl trying to learn as I go. Also, I'm going to get my endorsement so I can "legally" ride this spring.
Hope to hear from some people and learn a lot here! - Melissa.
