HELP Appreciated! 77CB750F (Gas Tank Filter)

I picked up a pretty decent 750F Tank off of a member a couple months back. When the tank arrived I found out it had be lined internally. I have no problem with that (even though I was told it had not been, #$%*), My PROBLEM is: There is a FILTER inside the tank which is now covered with the product, I can't find installation/removal of this filter in either a clymer or Honda shop book. HOW DO I REMOVE THIS FILTER? I AM WORRIED IT WILL AFFECT MY FUEL FLOW.

Thanks,
Ryan

The filter just slips on over the petcock tube, and is a press-in fit in the tank bung. Sounds like the liner has glued it to the bung? You could try and run a drill bit or easy-out (by hand!) up it to see if it will turn and break the seal? Then it should just pull out. I've had them stick when I've taken the petcock off, and this has worked for me, but then they haven't been 'adhered' to the tank.

cheers

Get a new filter, I've never been able to remove one without it being damaged in some way.
Then just run a drill bit through it (I think it's either 9 or 9.5mm?)

Yeah, I figured the old one is shot.

Bikeboy, Crazypj what your guys are saying is to just push it through? and fish it out of the spout? New installation is simply by pressing in the new filter?
