Help ID these (leather working?) hand tools

ako

Been Around the Block
Can anyone ID these tools?

The seller thought they were for leather working, in particular saddle making. I was expecting some awls/punches/etc.

I thought they could be used for making seats, but when I got this photo, it looks like they are somehow used for drilling rather than punching/sewing.

Anyone got a clue?

Yes those are leather tools.
Designed for working and tooling hard leather (like saddles).

Hard leather is tough stuff in the raw. To "tool" leather you wet it and compress it with the "tool"s to leave the design/decoration.
When you stitch pieces together, the needle doesn't make the holes as you stitch, you have to make the holes with awls or punches and such before you stitch.

Very labor intensive, and a lot of strength is required.

Nice Score!
