hello guys, I've been trying to put the rear tire back on the swingarm. But it seems that the spacer will not fit between the swingarm in the brake drum. Therefore can't put the axle through. Is there a trick that I don't know about. were do I have to call a friend over and muscle it in. any advice will help. thanks guys
Pics! You should be able to find the parts diagrams online to tell you exactly where to put what spacers etc. And no, it shouldn't need to be forced in. Don't force it.
It looks like your sprocket assembly will stay attached to the swingarm when you remove the brakes/wheel... correct?
If that's correct, make sure the wheel seated fully into the cush drive, and that the brake assembly seated fully into the hub.
My Yamaha DS7 goes together the exact same way, and I had the same trouble with mine. Turned out the wheel wasn't properly clocked into the cush drive bushings.
Hey - when reassembling my XS650 rear end I swear it took me 3 tries to get the sprockets lined up. Still don't know what I was doing wrong or why it suddenly worked.
