Help me with math. Cb450 with cb360 swingarm (figuring out shocks)

I'm rebuilding my bike. It's a 74 cb450. I have a cb360 swingarm on (just shy of 2 inches longer than the stock 450 swingarm.) I have the stock 450 shocks on now (opposed to some lower units I threw away recently.) I'm aiming to match stock height or just up it a little bit. Would you say that the 14.5" shocks found on Dime City's site are overkill?

I can't tell how much the bike is dropped from standard height, but I imagine a bit over an inch, maybe 1.5" total. The stock shocks appear to be 12". If that's all correct, then a 14.5" shock would really only be like adding an inch in height over stock (aside from still retaining a longer wb.) Steering would be similar to stock probably. Clearance would improve.

Anyone have experience with these shocks? My wife will kill me if I spend too much more money on this project, so the price is right on these:

Easiest thing to do would be block bike up under crankcase/swing arm pivot with shocks removed then just measure between the mounting points when it's at the height you want

Yeah that's true.

Well, for the sake of possibility, if I do indeed want a 14.5" shock, anyone have experience with the ones posted in the link?
