Help setting a realistic price.

I have two very expensive hobbies. The first is restoring this 68 CL350. The second is playing and recording music. Recently, the recording has become more a priority, as I am actually making money from it and reinvesting in really nice gear. I'm not rich, so one of these things has to go. So, the bike it is. Besides, living in the part of town I'm currently in, its really not a lot of fun to ride anymore. Atlanta traffic is brutal on an air cooled engine.

So, I know there is no chance of recouping anywhere close to everything I have in the bike. I wanted to post pics and specs and let you guys make suggestions.

First, a link to pictures:

Here we go:
1968 CL350

New paint, aqua blue. Recently disassembled, vapor blasted, over-bored and honed (two over), new pistons, new rings, NOS valves, NOS rockers, NOS cam holders, NOS cam, NOS cam chain tensioner assembly, tsubaki cam chain, everything else inspected and within spec. Mikuni VM30s with a large range of extra jets and needles. Mikuni carb boots installed. New gaskets installed on reassembly. Aftermarket knee pads installed. Original CL350 high pipes with shorty mufflers. New high tension drive chain.

New chrome headlight with H4 upgrade.

Turn signals all upgraded to LED.

New (200 miles) vintage style dunlop tires.

Rick's Hot Shot stator and rectifier installed.

New AGM 220 CCA battery installed.

Original seat reupholstered in tuck and roll and foam lowered.

Indicator lights upgraded to LED.

Brake pads installed 200 miles ago (with the tires)

200 miles on rebuilt engine.

Parts and labor (most of which was mine) on all of this was somewhere around 3k. Paid 1000 for the bike before rebuild.

Comes with: Extra exhaust set (MAC two into 1)

Harbor Freight ATV/Motorcycle lift

Two battery tenders

Extra cam, rockers, calves, cam holders, and nearly complete extra parts engine (disassembled)

Clymers Manual

What it needs: New tach gear (current one is stripped, simple to install, can be had for $30 on ebay)

Someone with the time and know-how to fine tune the Mikuni carbs. Bike idles great, takes off and accelerates, but runs rich and exhibits the typical problems as such.

If you feel like offering some advice on pricing, please do.

Thanks in advance!

Throw it on eBay, set the lowest reserve you can stomach without getting sick. Then add a "Buy It Now" for double that amount. You'll land somewhere in the middle and that's probably a good indicator of market value. Wait another month until the weather is really getting nice and people are getting the itch

great looking bike with a lot of new parts does equal some substantial value, however the color and mods have lowered value to many buyers
i think putting some standard bars on it would really help it kinda looks retarded and those bars are in an unrideable position,it is hard to look at :-[

i disagree. Bike looks nice, including the color scheme.

I also would like to disagree. The color looks great on that scoot. I had a similar handlebar set up on my CL175 and I got $2k out of the thing the first guy that came and looked at it, and mine was much more "weathered" than yours. Just another opinion I suppose though.

Silly bars and paint aside, to get the get the max price out of it, you need to resolve the issues and list it like this:

" Needs Nothing, everything is 100% ! !

instead of listing your excuses ( ie; why not to buy the bike for asking price) :

yep ;) it so close to being done, get it running right, put some PROPER bars on it
the way it sits is an unfinished project = non optimum selling price

I agree on the bars, not ideal and would price it at no more than 2k if its not running great.

Get it running. Spend $150 at a shop if you have to. You'll get another $500-$1000 for it in my opinion.

It's a very pretty bike.
Throw it on ebay with a lot of descriptive words and put a high reserve on it and see what happens.
No fees if it doesnt sell.

Hadn't checked this site in a while and figured the haters would have chimed in by now. Got a good price for it that made the buyer and me both happy. To the negative fucks on this site; Eat a bag of dicks. You pretentious fucks are what makes this site suck after a couple of years. To all the folks that offered wisdom and words of encouragement; thanks. You guys made it fun for a while. Abandoning my account now, or deleting if I can figure out how.
