HELP! Where is my relay??

my new blinkers light up, but dont "blink"!. I found a new 2 prong relay for them, but where is it? not in my headlight nor could i find it under seat, behind side cover.....what am i missin without taking my whole bike apart??...,,haha.....i know its right in front of my face....

left side panel, attached to the back of the battery box. It's a little rectangle, about 1 1/2'' long woth 2 wires attached


I just had to do mine, so I know it's there.
 
honda....77cb750.......I looked behind my left side panel....didnt see it....my battery is under the seat....its a , cylindrical piece with 2 prongs{is that what you meant when you said wires}..i just got the new one and need to replace it, ....I'll check again.....thanks
 
It's pretty hard to see. I doubt your old one will be cylindrical, it should be rectangular, with a rubber band-type attachement, and it should be secured between the battery box, and the rear mud/splash guard. It's pretty hard to see, I'll see if I can post up a picture for reference.

Left side panel, red circle. It's the small rectangle. The old relays operate at a specific voltage. The current trips a metal strip that acts as a flasher relay. I had to switch mine out when I put on new signals, same as you.

no sweat, I had the pic on my computer anyways, so all I had to do was hunt it down & make a fancy red circle, oooh fancy ;D
 
And if that doesnt work double check the mess of wires in the bucket. I had a simular problem when I turned on the blinker they would light up but not blink and it was a wiring miscommunication lol.
 
ug, so,found the relay, put the new one in, still doesnt work{and now the back, left blinker doesnt even light up}...tried another working relay from a buddys bike, still no flashing}...messed with some different wires in the headlight, checking grounds, etc, still no dice.....using hand signals while a cop is behind me and Im downshifting to take a turn is starting to annoy me.......gotta luv electrical problems.....anyone else? suggestions?
 
what kind of lights are you using? the old style relays relied on a piece of metal to heat up and distort to create the blinking, if your new lights don't draw as much current as the old ones, they may not work with any style blinker relay... I actually run led lights on my bike and had to build my own electronic blinker relay
