Hey guys,

Seeing some of these bikes on this forum has truly inspired me. Some amazing rides you guys have here!

Anyway, I'm new here. My name is Adrian, I'm 21 and from south Florida (PRIME riding weather these next few months!!). I ride a 2006 Dyna Street Bob. Looooove the bike. The Harley forum that I visit has a member there, who visits here, and he has really got me going on finding an older ride to cafe racer style it. Diggin' the look. Watcha guys think of the 81 Honda CB 750's? I have a chance to pick up a very clean one, low miles, for $650. Carbs probaly need a cleaning. Has new tires, brakes and chain. Throttle needs to be replaced, and battery needs to be checked. First carb is overflowing, so I've gotta take a look at that. But other then that, its pretty clean looking.. watcha guys think? Should I jump on it? Are these good bikes, or what?

Again, you guys have some sick rides.. can't wait to get started on mine!

Cheers,
Adrian

can't really go wrong for $650 bucks. I say go for it. Early '80s isn't really prime years for a cafe, but I'm sure you can make it work.

+1 on Matt's comments BUT.. here are some really nice looking DOHC cafe racers here!!..
You can do basically anything... Crabcakes has a really nice lookin 750DOHC. it looks like the Hot-Rod of bikes!

I agree. The price is solid. Starting in 79, Honda changed the tank shape (with the drop down to line up with the side covers) and it went DOHC. The latter doesn't matter unless you're a SOHC nut like me and besides the duals or smooth as silk and reliable as hell. However the tank makes a tradional "cafe" look a bit more challenging to achieve but it can be done! Good luck!
