Been looking around this site for the last couple of weeks and thought I'd post my winter cafe project. The bike is a 1981 Yamaha XV920rh some people refer to this model as either the chain drive Virago or Euro or even Seca model however Yamaha gave it no model name only its letter designation of XV920rh.The most unique feature of the bike is the rear drive chain is enclosed and runs in a grease bath when you go to pull the rear wheel it comes off like a shaft drive bike with the chain and sprockets staying in place. These only came to the States in 81&82 with 81 being red and the 82 silver or gray,I call it grey others say it looks silver to them.Traded a $600 car for the bike so I'm happy as the bike already has some great extras.SS braided brake lines, oil cooler with SS braided lines, drilled rotors and fork brace and progressive suspension springs on both ends.Hopefully I'll post the pic here correctly.

Welcome 8ml8, nice looking bike you have. Looks to be in great shape. Interesting about the chain, never heard of that before. Any pics of it?

Look forward to seeing your cafe progress.

Here is a poor shot of the drive chain arrangement it rides inside rubber bellows packed with lithium grease there is a good german website devoted to these bikes as overseas they were around for about a decade do a web searh for Yamaha TR1 as that's what they were known as over there.Europe,etc.got a 980cc motor while USA received a 920cc however the 1000cc Virago cruiser is the same 980cc motor as Overseas got so I already have some 980cc barrels and slighty milled heads waiting for this bike .It also has an oversized 8" headlight which is what I'll try to feature on the front as I happen to like the giant headlight I think it'll be good for relocating my ignition switch and idiot lights into the shell, all the horns, fuse box ,etc. that now ride on the front forks will be relocated and I'll go with super-bike bars with barend turn signals.
