Hi all,

I have been browsing these forums for the past few months and have found them to very helpful. Just thought id say g'day and introduce my ride.

I am a big fan of Japanese brat style bikes. So I finally picked up myself a running 1984 sr250 a couple of months back. I wanted a small project (as its my first) to work on during my three week christmas break. The bike is now about 95% complete. Just need to tidy up some wiring, fix gaitors and mount the indicators, mirrors rear fender, tail light. If anyone is interested in viewing start to finish progress i'm more than happy to create a new post in projects.

Cheers all.

It's being pushed to the back of the line until my DT400 trans comes in...Once that is buttoned up I'll order the few parts i need to get it going....Searching for a HD peanut tank for it right now have some trades pending

Looks great brother- I'd love to see the full project details..

Just picked up a sr250 the other day and want to do a similar bratstyle-esque build, so I'd love to see more of your bike for some inspiration. Are you keeping a full rear fender? I'm brainstorming how to keep a full fender and still fit keep my seat as low-profile as possible. Definitely looking forward to your final photos..

Love the look of it man, good build!

Hey man sleek bike you got there! And amazing leather work! you do that yourself? or have it sent out?

Thanks Bud,

Ill start a thread soon. I have ended up keeping the original fender just changed the position to follow the back of the seat a little better. I would have liked a flatter seat but I was on a low budget for this build so I just grabbed a seat for the sr400/500 and made it fit.

Good luck with your build.

Hi Emptygrace,

Thanks. I bought the seat from www.Motolanna.com Its made for the SR400/500 and is similar to the nitroheads seat, but for a fraction of the price; 120usd if i remember correctly. I just ground off some tabs and drilled 6.5mm holes through the frame to secure it with the hardware that was supplied.
