Hi, my name is......

Doodoo.
I have pics of my bike, which is a '74 CB350f, but am ashamed of it.... So I'll post once it gets massaged. Im not actually sure if I have a style or if it is even "cafe-ish". But we'll see I guess. I came from streetbikes and wrecked my last one and the wife said no-mo. So I convinced her that the "CB only was a 350cc and it wasn't going to be fast or unsafe". ;) Promise.....
Going back to styles, I find myself really digging the JaP Brat style (for lack of a better term).
And was wondering if you guys had input and thoughts about what you really like about the functionality and rider feel of your own bikes. Thanks for any insight.

And thanks for having me!

Welcome to DTT man. Get some pics up... Nothing you have can be as bad as some of the stuff we've seen here. Hell I doubt its anywhere near as bad as most of the crap I drag home!

And as far as "styles" and whatnot; most guys and girls here dont really care. As long as you built it and ride the hell out of it, everyones happy. haha

"Pics or its fake" is something you might see come up every now and again.

Really, man. It can't be THAT bad.

You dont say....? People really wanna see ur $300 bike round here or you're lying, huh?..spooky
Well, you know how people say that pics dont do this justice. Mines the opposite of that, this pic looks good, i must be a photographer or something. CB350f basket i picked up. Guy painted the entire engine assembled(FKHKU&*($^$%^), so its been disassembled and the frame has been hacked on. Still weighing the pros and cons of what to do and what not. A definite is going to be a tree-less fork set-up. And more than likely some window bars. Don't know how many folks have a cb350f but the backbone part of the frame is a designing nightmare and will have to be chopped. But anywho.... Heres a pic for the non-believers who walk amongst us....haha
The day I got it home.

If you got that for $300 you are a lucky sob.

Serious. You should see some of the crap I've considered dropping 300 bucks on. Stuff that looked like it had been dropped out of a plane, into a swamp, then painted with house paint.

Also what do you mean by "A definite is going to be a tree-less fork set-up."

???

Means he's going to have a lot to do with his hands, like working the clutch, the throttle, and holding the forks in place. :D

That's a pretty good deal, and I can see a lot of potential already.

Well... it's not every day I see something I've never seen before. I probably spend 4 hours a day on motorcycle blogs/forums and that is new to me.

Huh.

You will notice, however, that they are selling that part for $2500. Now I'm not saying that you can't make your own but it seems like there must have been quite a bit of engineering/mechanical work/machining/welding that went into making something like that that's not a death trap.

So... git ta work!

And honestly, theres a semi local bone yard 15 minutes away from me that I have got friendly with that sells bikes( no titles) for 150-300. And if the bike doesnt have the stuff all on it, they will take off other bikes in the yard to suffice.

and if you get a price, lemme know i'll try to sweet talk'em! Dude will give the hook-up for a pack of smokes! haha

Haha! Yeah, but they price it that high because they feel as thought they are the innovators of said product. Take a good look at it, I don't know you're machining capabilities but to me, it doesn't seem to be that big of a headache. BUT, we will see. If i fail, then I'll say so!

Thats bad!? ha ha ha... We usually start with stuff like this around here!

Never heard of tree less forks on a MC before, but it shouldn't be that big of a deal. Much like a BMX bike with a fatter stem. Good luck on the build man. Keep us posted.
