I'll stick some pics up shortly if anyone's interested, but has anyone on here done this to an f2n? :)

wow, didn't even know that existed.

main thing i'm struggling with is that it's a 1992 bike so the tank and seat line is nowhere near straight. thought about keeping the tank and ditching side panels, then putting a whitehouse style back end on it.

ok, here's a rough pic of where it's up to so far. i know it's ot a great base model for this style, but i got it for sod all so it's got to be worth a go:

there are a load more in that account of it. any advice/suggestions as to how to make it look more cafe style would be greatfully received!

ok, this is where i'm lookking to go with this:

is it a go as a cafe, or does it look like bollocks?

i think spokes might help your cause. why are you so worried about what style to call it? make it how you want and ride it.

spike, it's a tricky one. i like the style in the mockup but i don't want to go too far into another project, just enough for it to look deliberate!

love some of the stuff on here, but if i'm not careful i could end up spending a bloody fortune.

CBX 750 motor, be careful with oil, hydraulic tappets don't like it if you use wrong stuff (or its dirty)
I think your looking streefighter/cafe hybrid

PJ

cheers pj. it does seem to come off as a hybrid of both looks, probly due to being a younger bike i guess.

i'll stick at it, might be the first to start a journal on doing a conversion to one of these on here!

Welcome to DTT.

Theres been a few F2n, RC42 or nighthawks as they are called in USA recently. A search on google images for "nighthawk cafe racer" brings up a few you could get inspiration from.

Couple more, clock fitment with bars ready for remote master cylinder brake...

And a cheeky rear shot with the undertray back in...

All very roughly fitted atm, but baby blade master cylinder and reservoir all goes on (just):

I'll muck about with the bracket angle, but it's all in there! Means i can definitely keep these bars and fairing position :)

Brake lines fitted to front, clocks modified to clear, remote reservoir fitted and connected, bars cleaned off, head stock fitted properly and a few other proper jobs sorted. Doesnt look much different but it's all properly on there now...
