Hiding a battery

Ive got a CB350, and i want to hide the electronics in the bum stop, and would like the smallest battery i can get away with. What kind of batteries is everyone using for this, I was thinking of a dry cell, or possible even an R/C car battery. The bike is kick start only, and i dont drive to far at night, so all i need it to do is start the motor, keep it running, and work the lights a little. Thanks in advance for any help.

You want a small AGM motorcycle battery. They can be positioned on their sides etc.

Do you already have the seat made? If so, figure out the biggest battery size that you can fit in there and find one close to it.

I'm using a YTX5L-BS in my Yamaha XS650 project. I haven't finished wiring it up, so I don't know how well it will work, but I believe it will do the trick. Like you I have no electric starter. So long as your charging system on the bike is working well, you will be able to ride forever once the bike is running.

The battery is 4.5 x 2.8 x 4.2 inches in size.

I'm wiring my ignition switch up so that one position is ignition only - no lights etc. So I can start the bike with nothing else using battery, and if need be run it in that mode if I run into trouble charging it.

Have you seen the BCR solution?
