Hmmmmm, interesting digital Speedo / Tach

I bought a small KOSO digital unit for my 750f project a month ago. It fits nicely between the headlight bucket and top clamp and has all the necessary lights and functions. still have to make a bracket to mount the sensor to the forks though....one more thing on my never ending list!

I noticed there were 2 versions of this tach / speedo on eBay.
An EP2 model, and an EP7 model.
I asked the seller what the difference was, here's the response I got:

Hello, dear.
EP2 is the magnetic induction meter.
ep7 is connected to the tire driven machinery line.
Thanks.
Greetings

So I'm wondering if the EP2 version is the right size to connect to my existing hardware.....

EP2 being magnetic induction means you get to stick a magnet(s) on your wheels and a sensor on the fork. Don't need to worry what your bike hardware is. The EP7 looks like it hooks up to your mechanical cable.

Looks pretty cool, be interesting to see how they'd hook up tach on the older bikes that have multiple point sets.

So the tach works via my gear driven system from the bike as well? Just like the speedo?

It has M12 threading, so I think it will work.
I'll let you know once I receive it.
What I'm not sure is how the tach works.

How does acewell do the tach?

I have a Trailtech Vapor on my Dirtbike. It's awesome. Had to screw a magnetic bolt in the rotor and attach a wire down by it to read it each time the magnet bolt passed for the speed. The tach was wrapped around the spark plug wire. They're service is great, I goofed setting it up and couldn't get it to come on. They sent me another one. I got it working once I removed the protector over the battery. Still have the second one.. If anyone's interested hit me up.
