Been Around the Block
Geico and Full Throttle magazine held their 13th annual Florida motorcycle Expo here in Clearwater this past weekend. I decided to head out there yesterday to check it out. I’m only a few miles from the event and being 75 degrees here yesterday I of course rode my café out. When I was pulling into the motorcycle parking area, the guy at the gate suggested I enter it in the “ride in show”. I figured what the hell and did.
Mine was the only café out of the 100 or so that entered and it was up against some very nicely built custom bikes. I honestly didn’t think it had a chance of winning anything, and in fact after sitting through the many classes I thought they had put me in and not being called I actually began to leave, ...when all of a sudden, “and the winner for BEST of SHOW non-pro build”, HERM!!! ;D I got the gold powder-coated piston trophy you see on the seat in the pic, and a check for $250!! Shit guys, disbelief doesn’t even begin to explain the feeling but I’m sure gonna be smiling for a few days!! ;D
