Honda CB125 1970 restoration

Hey, I'm 16 years old and from norway, I a Honda Shadow 125 as my daily driver and Honda super Cub which i have resprayed , put a 125 engine in, converted from 6v to 12v and some other small things
my next project is this CB125 , kind of want to make it look a bit liek a cafe racer.. but not too much...
anyways here it is!
bought it a week ago, when it arrived home, 10 hour drive to get it... next to my beloved cub

paint is a dicaster

started polishing things up..

ajusted the ign. timing and got it to run all the way to the redline after that i toured a bit...

then i pressure washed the engine..

and gave it a light polish

started dissassembeling

hmmm... lots of colors..

wiring is a mess

bke had no air filter :O

no more paint

turned teh bars upside down and fliped it left/right.. I'v orderd a new cafe racer handlebar

and all of a sudden the bike looked like this..

had to take the front end of to get the rest of the metal parts i need to paint

these need a polish

all bare metal

paint stripper where i cant get with the angel gridnder

not sure if i want to take it all apart and paint the frame aswell? good idea?

and im not shure whats wrong with the engine, but the right cylinder is smoking blue... bad piston rings or valve guide/seal?
any ideas how i could get more power from the 125?

ohh darn... posted in cafe racers.. ??? if a admin sees this could you move it to restoration? i think of it like that ,even tho its going to have some cafe insiped mods ? but i dont really know ... where do you think it belong?

probably the valva guide seals. they are the most likely to fail...

hmm ..I'll try to do a comression test .. if the compression is good in both it got to be the valve guides... ? or am i wrong?

The steering whas somewaht heavy and lumpy so i opned it up and cleaned it

found out it was missing a coupple of balls in the lower one.. so i found some more

reassembeling

exhaust and airboxes removed

all of a sudden teh engien fell out..

almost looks like these two have been conected here... ? and what is it? condensator?

removed the cables , had to cut a lot of them.. the previus owner had made it somewhat stupid..

the choke has been ajusted wrong as you see..

the red needs to be taken away

cleaned the carbs... #75 jets... thought the jets would be 85 ish ?

wet sanded, probly need to sand some more

primed the tank so i can start bogging it... needs some filler. i allwed myself to use rattle can primer since im goign to wet sand it anyways..

Thinking of getting some foam filters.. any downside with that?
iv also bought some new piston rings--> going to hone the cylinders ..and i need to replace the valve stem seals... i have bought new... so then i need to take the valves off.. and when they're off ill regrind them to fit the head better
recived my new points today aswell excited about rebuilding the engine, i love that kind of stuff

ohh im also going to add gearing and breaking to the passanger footpegs.. (for when i lay down, like a racer bike, you got the pegs behind you 10 times better than where they are now) ... but i also want my original pegs/controls for when i ride with a passanger ... i understand how to make the gearing .. but how do i make a funtunable brake pedal on the passanger peg , while i still got one in the orgiginal possition? ... both needs to be functional...
anyone got a brilliant idea? needs some inspiration

and no the passanger wont be able to use the controls due to them sitting lower than the pegs and he wont reach them wile sitting up on the back of the seat

started taking the engine apart... its smoking blue/white...

the gadgen that makes it fire at the right time... but how do i mount this when im done? no notch or nothing to allign it with the rest..

lost one of the ends in the gearbox... *beep*

got my handle bar yesterday, i love it! only need to make the foot pegs further back

new parts! dont think im going to use the dampers tho.. but ill check if they are willing to fit

new rear light! i like it!

new mirror, don't think im going for bar ends...

filler ints not the nice filler, its the "harsh" filler

a tool i made to get the valves off while i restored my moped...

here is the oil leak! the exhaust vavle seal is leaking, new is on its way!

cleaned one of htem, the air must flow a bit better past that one i think?

Now i need to hone the cylinders , put in new valve seals and put in new piston rings!
and wash it all ofcourse

found out my points are wrong..

honed the cylinders with his tool + paraffin

changed the valve seals instaled the valves cam and rockers

beed filling some more

started cleaning, cleanded the right side , ohhh god i hate the person who has painted the cylinders and top red!

ordred paint at the local painter... went for the right one... it looks so dark in the pic...
