Honda CB160 Pretty White Hellride

You've been mostly-dead all day.

It’s been a while since I posted a project thread. I was able to buy a pretty cheap CB160 with a title through our buddy Von Yinzer and it made its way to Georgia partly through Hurco and partly through me. It arrived after Mid Ohio last month. I won’t call it a full restoration, since I rarely do that, but it will be as close as it comes.

White is moderately rare. Most riders opted for red or black. The blue CB160s are extremely rare. BMI Karts has chrome CB160 front fenders. Old Dixie stock so they have some rust and scratches. https://www.bmikarts.com/Chrome-Front-Fender-For-Honda-CB160_p_7592.html. I have a very nice taillight for one if you need it.
I never even considered any sort of rarity. I have a second fender that is a creamy white color with chrome struts. I guess I should find out if they also came painted.

Along with the black bombers this is my favorite CB model, looking forward to seeing what you do

I guess rarity is in the eye of the beholder. The bikes came in red, black, white and blue. White and blue were not big sellers. White was too bland and the blue was butt ugly. Honda had a habit of sending the blue bikes with blue or red seats to further push buyers away. If the title say's white I would consider keeping it white. The rivet counters get all worked up over the original colors but honestly Honda didn't keep any records regarding color for these early bikes. I have a S65, it's black. The US bikes came in black, white and red. If I change five pieces of plastic the bike could be red or white. The thing about 160s is they were very good motorcycles. It will be a fun ride.

From what I have seen and "collected" over the years, side covers, seats, exhausts are hard to find. I turned the last CB160 we got with title into a period looking Cafe racer and that is the one bike in the garage that most of our visitors love. And that is especially true of non riders who think it's cute. BTW, they can be turned into cool little race bike too. Just in case you are missing street parts..... ;-)

I need to dig through the bins, but I think I have most everything. Though the exhaust is heavily and roughly repaired.
