but yeah it is a process of elimination sometimes simply having the wire connected incorectly at the points,it needs to be isolated from ground, this alone has caused many to frustrate
Not sure if we're reading the same post -- he says in the third post he replaced them a month ago. Oil or dirt can foul points if they are a day old or two years old, doesn't hurt to check. I'm not saying that's definitely it -- weak battery is a frequent culprit on these with these symptoms, as others have pointed out, and a bad condenser, or grounding issue or... everything else that people have suggested.
so i started today attempting to do what was recommended besides swapping out the condensers and coils and when i turned it on the points which i just had hooked up were smoking for a half second before the fuse blew i am hoping that someone has had this problem before? i need to wait until i get a new fuse before moving on. hopefully the old fuse was just old and the points were burning off the imaginary oil on them.
so speaking of my wiring harness anyone ever had anydealings with agatha_cycleshop on Ebay, for the pair of remanafactured coils? these ones?

for my bike and i won't have to modify much or get extra parts? I am a broke college student so not much extra cash if any.
so now i feel stupid found the problem when i removed the points and moved the blue wire around a little it broke off just inside of the case. (I have moved it around before just saying so not the first time i have touched it.)
so here i am again with another problem.... My points are turning on at around 150-180 degrees off the LF mark and the F mark. I am assuming i did something very wrong and stupid. Please any help with pictures would be great or no pictures either way.
