I need to get my hands on an alternator puller and can't seem to find the proper one anywhere. I've got the honda and K&N part numbers for this tool but no luck. Any ideas where I can scoop one up or fabricate my own?

Any help gladly welcome.

Regards

Huh, clever. I guess I could try that out. I've been waiting for the right moment to buy a strap and torque anyways...

But, really...No place to buy the original puller? Kinda hard to believe.

Hello,
I just recently got my hands on a cb100 and am trying to clean it up, but I'm currently stuck at trying to pull the flywheel. While I like to like to think I'm ok with a wrench, I'm by no means a mechanic and am afraid of busting it if I tried an improvised tactic.
Iv been searching on the web now for a while and would also like to know if there is a original or aftermarket puller out there that I could pick up.

I'm glade I found these forums! This looks like its going to be my new go to place!

motion pro sells the tool that you need, or find a bolt that will work

But while you are ordering tools....get the motion pro clutch/oil slinger tool

if you are cracking the motor you NEED these tools

There's a simple secret to removing those rotors. First off a rattle gun is the easiest way to shock the retaining bolt loose, but if you don't have one, smack your wrench with a mallet to break the bolt loose. One or two sharp taps and the bolt comes loose.

Then screw the rear axle or puller into the larger thread and tighten it as far as you can. And here's the trick. Smack the end of teh axle or puller quite hard with a large hammer. Yes a hammer. aka a B.F.H. Dead square on the end. if that doesn't do it, tighten teh axle/puller more and repeat the hammer blow. The blow distorts teh taper slightly but enough to spring the rotor free. Don't hammer on the rotor or your fingers.
