Honda Cl350 Frame interchangability

so as long as the frame is for a CL/CB 350 twin it will be interchangeable? I'm asking because i got a decent title less 71 CL350 locally for pretty cheap, and i want to make sure that i get a frame that works

Instead of a new frame you could try the Vermont title deal....

thats very interesting, but i would like to weigh my options, and im honestly trying to get a bike together as cheap as possible [without endangering my safety] for now. pulling the bike i have apart and reassembling on a new frame would also give me a chance to make sure everything is good and ill be much more familiar with the bike im riding.

Don't forget the SL350 frames will work as well. Different design, same motor mounts.

how is it different? just a different way to skin a cat or different everything except motor?

No stamped steel in the SL frame. Lots of vintage race circuit guys use them because they're more rigid. And prettier IMO.

Definitly cooler, but the chances of finding one with a title are slim to none. Also, none of the CB/CL bodywork or parts (other than the motor and forks/swinger) will bolt up. The SL stuff is all different.

And... I always thought they were more rigid as well. A couple years ago we had a member who races 350s and he shared some info that proved otherwise. Because they were designed for rugged terrain, they actually flex a bit more. Easy to fix with some gussets in specific places though. Ill try to find that thread...
