Honda XL175 headlight on a CB350

Will it work? Local guy parting out an XL175, seems like my quickest and cheapest option to get my bike one step closer to street legal if it would work (bike headlights required in day in MT.)

I'm not looking at this as a final option, just want to get this bike street legal so I can see if I even like riding it before investing time and money into it. Tired of sneaking runs around residential areas to test it, and I don't need any legal hassles right now.

I think the XL175 headlight may be a bit smaller width wise than the 350, but I'm sure you could make it work.

One other thing is that the XL175 is 6V (I think), so you'll need a different bulb.

Is a bulb all I would need to switch to go from a 6 volt light assembly to a 12 volt system?

I actually like the idea of a smaller headlamp, but I don't want to get too into aesthetics before I put some time in the saddle. That's REALLY challenging, considering the amount of inspirational eye candy this site throws at me constantly. All I want to do is tear this bike to pieces and start from the ground up (you guys make it look really EASY) but I know I could really screw up a bike that's already running before I actually ride it if I give in to that urge too soon.
