How do I make a custom hub (Rear)?

So I'm starting to get a fetish for a custom hub for the rear so I can have the shaft drive and a disk brake all in the very narrow space on the XZ550 as well as spokes (of course).
I recall someone here spun up a custom spoke hub on his lathe and I'd like to re-read that thread but for the life of me I can't find it. Does anyone recall which bike it was?
