How does the fender go on!?

So I went to refinish the rear fender on my cl350 project...

But I forget/cant figure out where the front "tab" on the rear fender is supposed to go. If I remember correctly it was mounted underneath something (possible something I removed?), and then gets bolted at the top to the same place the tail lights go... What am I missing here? If I only bolt the fender at the top it seams the thing could move on me...

Yes, the bottom of the fender mounts onto a rubber piece that's attached to the top of the toolbox which is not on your bike from what I see in your photos.

Hmmm...

i vaugely remember that. I still have the tool box, but I'd rather not have it on the bike... Unless y'all think thats a majorly stupid idea... Any ideas on how to secure the fender decently without it?

Leaving the toolbox off isn't stupid but you'll need to rig up a bracket to the frame. You may need to braze a couple of mounts, it's all up to you to make it work. Part of the fun of Cafeing is DIY.
