I made mine...

used "Stuff" to get the pan how i wanted it

then shaved that down (used a helmet button visor on the back to get a bit of a lip on the back of the seat)

Hell yeah! That what I like to see right there! Someone out there using there inginuity and craftsmanship to make something that they will be the only one to have one like it! Great work man, anyone who really gets dirty crafting thier own shit just makes cooler shit in my book!
(P.S. while i was typing this the theme song from Team America was playing in my head, so begin to sing "America...Fuck Yeah!" and reread to get an idea of my emotion!)

I do what the voices tell me to......most of the time!

beautiful job man. what you using for a cushion? I love the white trees, brackets, and bars. and that tank cap/bezel... awesome. more pics

I have some 1/2 in neoprene that i am going to cut to match and use that... no it is not going to be very comfortable... no i do not care. i only putting padding on it to protect the paint from getting all marred up from my jeans as i ride. i screwed up my first attempt at cutting the padding so i had to order some more, it is on its way...to attach the seat to the bike... i just used some good ol velcro... this seat was molded to the bike so it fits so snug, the velcro will just keep it there if it is on the trailer or something like that...

final:
cut some neoprene and used 3m trim tape to adhear that to the seat so if i ever want to pull it off i can... then used some industrial strenght velcro to hold the seat to the rails... final product on the scoot

exellent! ...is that a 500 or a 750? I love and have a 650 but it's good to see someone using yammies' "other" cool vinmotos.

hope you didn't get that "stuff" in your hair before it hardened. It is a bitch to wash out. I learned the hard way in art school.....
I'm super impressed with your use of it, i might try that now instead of pink insulation foam.......

Top job man, it looks flawless, I love the yamaha cafe' you don't see enough of em' please post more finished pics if you take any

That turned out awesome. I am going to use this as a template for a future seat build. One question - What exactly is the "fleece" and what is it used for ? I have never seen it before. Thanks.

Gotcha. I will look for fleece at a fabric store or Wal Mart. Does the fleece become part of the seat or did you use it to protect from the glass resin ?

that is the base... you lay the resin right on that, after it is all wet then start to layer the glass...

That looks absolutely amazing. What did you use for a seat pan & how did you attach it to the fiberglass? I'm working on my first project & that is exactly what I had pictured in my head.

nothing for a pan the whole thing is glass. i used a piece of wood and "Stuff" that expandable foam crap to make the shape

Cleeeeean! How many times did you do this before it started coming out so well? First time? I've been wanting to do this myself but I've never done it before. How well did your first come out assuming this wasn't it.
