How light can you get a CB360?

What's the lightest you've gotten a CB360? Or the lightest you've seen/heard of?
How light can you get them while still having room for a passenger and by doing less advanced mods?

Mine's below 300lbs. But I don't take passengers.

Nice! Thanks for the reply.
What would you say was your greatest area of weight loss besides tank and seat.. both aluminum ? Also, what's your exhaust setup? I dig those baffles.

emgo shorties. Biggest weight is just a combo of everything. The bars, seat, tank, frame mods, air box, horn etc etc.

You can chop off another 2 pounds of rotating mass if you switch to aluminum rims.

tank seat and exhaust were pretty heavy on that bike, going with alloy for the seat and tank, and a light racing exhaust will probably get you 30lbs less, losing the battery for something very minimal will get you another 5-6, starter motor and drive will probably get you 4, alloy rims, lighter racing tires, maybe 5, lose the center stand for another 5, stock pegs maybe 2-3, ditching the fenders for alloy would maybe get you 2-3... so add that up and subtract it from 375

and if you're thinking about taking a passenger, it's pointless, adding more than one rider on a bike that small is going to make it handle, accelerate and stop like a laden rowboat, nothing you do to cut weight on the bike is going to help that

I just removed a few things on this and 'lost' about 50lbs.
Smaller battery, combined solid state reg/rect, remove starter motor (and EVERYTHING related including the mounting on rotor ;D )
378cc conversion (loses about 1lb of cast iron from cylinder)
Rewired with a lot less wiring, smaller LED indicators
K&N filters, (air boxes/filters weigh a bit much, but, carbs need a lot of work to make them work properly)
single skin 2:1 exhaust (made from mandrel bends and a Thrush 'glasspack' ;) )
Remove center stand

The second one will be substantially lighter as I am trying to reduce weight on it (Suzuki 41mm forks, alloy rims, modified hubs, etc)

im wanna pull my electric start off. do they make something to replace the starter like a cover of some sort?

You need it to fill up the hole after you've removed electric starter. :D
You do need to remove generator cover to get the chain and gear out

I'm not sure of the weight of each of the individual items, but here is a complete list of things I know saved weight over stock (even the little stuff):

* LED front signals
* All-in-one LED replacement for rear signals and tail/brake light
* Fiberglass seat pan
* Chopped the helmet hooks, battery box mounts, air box mounts, center stand mounts, rear set pan supports (replaced with "hoop" for café seat), exhaust mounts, and entire rear/passenger foot peg mounts (the whole loop)
* Removed battery and replaced it with a capacitor
* Stock bars replaced with lighter clubmans
* Cylinders bored out a +2mm over and pistons are 11g lighter than stock
* Lighter and stronger valve springs with aluminum retainers
* Removed wiring from unwanted/unneeded components such as horn, tachometer, and signaling wire for the stator
* Replaced fuse box with a single in-line 5A fuse for entire system (can/should probably use a 3A fuse)
* Front fender
* Rear fender
* Air boxes and covers removed and replaced with velocity stacks
* Shaved the rubber pad and associated mounts from the side stand
* Replaced stock dash with custom-made brass mount

I'm expecting to have this thing down to the low 300s, but only the scales will tell. I should have the answer in another couple of weeks.

thanks so much man i was asking around but nobody would tell me how to do it

I think you can pull your flywheel as well if you're planning to run without the starter. Can someone confirm?

Yep, remove rotor and then unscrew starter clutch off the back.
Use rear axle as a 'puller, don't use a 2 or 3 leg puller on outside, you will break things
You know where the pictures are ;D
