How loud should be the valve on cb450?

I've ajusted them a while ago and didn't ride the bike.

But how loud should be a 0.002" setup on a cb450?

I do .004 on intake and .005 on the exhaust side - getting the .002 right is way too easy to mess up. I put a sticky together at Hondatwins about it:

You're going to hear some valve noise but if it sounds like a really loud sewing machine it's too tight.

I agree .004 is what I did for intake and exhaust as setting the clearance to .002 is hard and it leaves the possibility of having your valves too tight.

Yeah I bought a box of 12" .0015" years ago and they have survived 30 years . I still have a few left because I avoid 450-500T like taxes . Agreed it's a pain in the ...
