i'm new to the site, see thousands of bikes, but don't see any cafes in southern oregon. are we 'the few, the proud, the cafes'? i'm in roseburg, oregon... where are you?

I am in Grants Pass. i bought a 76 CB550 a few months ago. its in pieces right now, as most bikes are this time a year, but i really hope ti have it running soon. of course, looking for a job and not having any money sorta hinders that.

i hope we can all stay in touch. how about DTT Jefferson State?

Sure.. Why not??.. DTT Jefferson State...
Put together a patch design, let me have a looksie at it then send it off to Carter, aka: Caveman. He'll make it in any shape or size you want for pretty cheap!!

Welcome to the forum!!

so i got a little bored today and made this...its just a mock up but, tell me what you guys think, i'd love some, in put and ideas...

i dig it a lot. i am wondering if it should actually be State of Jefferson? initially DTT state of Jefferson didn't sound right, but i think that's the way it should be.
not that i have anything against skulls, but what about the pistons with a spade just above? sized relative to the pistons. or maybe like this, replace the skull with a spade http://www.zazzle.com/white_skull_crossed_pistons_check_flag_sticker-217509049298146758 it can be simplified obviously, but that was the closest i could come up with. what do you guys think? btw, great job on putting something together. thanks

here is a thread from the east coast guys. there are some good points made and cool, but simple designs. just thinkin.

Hey.. Id be happy to send you guys the high-rez image of the DTT logo/patch.
The Toronto West-End Boys, just used the standard logo then added "WEST-END BOYZ" along the top and "WRENCH & RIDE-EM" along the bottom.
The NOR-PAC guys did something similar...
I could even send you the original Font Style if you want...
You guys can do whatever you want, but I think it would look kinda cool if there was some similarities between the different regional patches... just my 2 cents.

After you guys have decided on a design, just send it to me so I have a copy.
YOu guys can then find a local guy to make them.. or Carter can make them in any size as one-offs..

i like what the east coast guys came up with myself. i would substitute "state of Jefferson" for the "Built not Bought". what about putting the 2 X's inside the spade, since that comes off the SoJ flag. i like the offset X's too.

Awesome Dude, if you want to take this in a different direction i am cool with that. i got way too much time on my hands these days, so i have plenty of time brain storm this stuff. i just don't have the skills put it all together. too bad we don't have more locals to offer up opinions. i know a few guys i could try and recruit.... you?

anyway, we'll figure it out.

noel, if i could get the high res image so i can fuck with it, that would be cool, also maybe the font as well.

if anyone else wants to make something that would be cool, i've just been bored and have had to much time on my hands...damn economy!!

here is another mock up...

ryan, i have a couple peeps that ride, only one that is is to cafes though :(

also noel, do you have an image of what the NOR-PAC guys are doing? i poked around but didn't see it.

i am all about it. out of curiosity, did you try a black spade with white X's? i think either way we are onto something. great work.

i have two friends in mind. he is an older guy, but has been building bikes most of his life. he had an pretty trick sr500 back in the 80's that was in the cafe racer style. currently he has a royal enfield, amongst others i think. he is a good craftsman too. he built his own rear sets on the enfield, and builds pretty much anything else he wants. my other friend has a couple of RD 2 strokes, but i am not sure i would call them cafe, yet. he was pretty inspired by my CB550, so he may be into swapping some bars and what not. he just got laid off for the winter too. seems to be a theme here.

anyway, my bike is far from road worthy, and not working it feels like it is getting further away. i am hoping to have the carbs rebuilt in the next week or so, and i stripped my seat down to the pan, so i will be working on that. i am trying to figure out how i will mount the tail light in the seat, but i have some ideas. then i can confirm the rest of the electrical is working. hopefully if santa is generous i can get some adjustable clubmans from omar's dtr. tires are next, and i should probably get my endorsement. so thats where i am at.

i'd like to hear what vwfye has to say, since he in the the jefferson state area too.

totally diggin it. whats the norpac patch look like? i assume noel got you hooked up with that.

Just checking in. I'm Grants Pass raised but unfortunately live in Eugene now. Love the Jefferson State patch with the skull. Gotta get me one for my leather.

I'd love to find a time this summer to do a ride up to Crater Lake or at least Diamond Lake! Anyone interested?
