How old were you when you first did the "Ton"

21 on a '96 Katana 600, hit 130 on the speedo, smooth as glass
22 on a NT650, just over 100 - this bike is not meant to go that fast
32 on a '93 VFR750 after a complete frame off rebuild (And a solid month of testing things out)

In a Car...
16 in a '82 Camaro - just over the 100 mark, the speeding ticket I rec'd was for 96 (in a 55)
19 in a '93 Dodge Stealth - Speedo indicated 135 and again, smooth as glass (I loved that car) this was only months before I blew up that engine and had to do a complete rebuild.

Many more thru the years - these are just the more memorable ones....

17 y/o on my 1988 CBR1000 Hurricane. Started shaking pretty bad at 115mph so I had to back off.

That bike must have had something really wrong with it. I took the same year cbr600 up as fast as it would go on an interstate highway, probably 135 or 140mph, and it was so stable that I could have fallen asleep on it. The cbr1000 of that year was a very conservative "sport" bike with conservative frame geometry, and it ended up being hallowed much more as the king of sport-tourers than anything else....

First time, age 16. On my first bike, a Honda CM400T. I was off the throttle and coasting when I passed the cop. Wrote me for 65 in a 30 zone. I didn't do it again for a while.
Most recently, about 1pm this afternoon. Rolled the 'busa through a couple of gears on the onramp to the interstate. Up to a Ton30'ish... upshifted three gears and backed off to 80... rolled on home.

Yeah, The front wheel wasn't too well balanced.
I was young and stupid. As opposed to now where I am slightly older and slightly less stupid.

I was 16 on my 1973 Kawasaki S2 350 with drag bars, Wirges expansion chambers and K&N Pod filters. Riding completely prone, tucked in flat on the tank, feet straight out behind me I saw an indicated 106 mph on the speedo on the way to school no less on a two lane road. Good times!

I had just put a 6.7L into my '65 Tempest when I was 19 by a few months. First week of summer in a nice, dished country road with a gently banked turn at one end and a T at the other, cornfields and thick grass on both sides.
145 before I smelled something burning and backed off.

I'm just 22 now and getting ready to try my hand at the same on a bike, the reason I'm here. :D

14 years old on the back of my Dad's Kawi ltd 550, while outrunning the cops who started chasing us while racing my uncle on his bike. 15 was the first time with me being at the controls on the same Kawi when my Dad let me borrow it. The Yamaha 185 exciter I had at the time would only do 70 with a good tail wind.

I just did my Ton this past weekend and did it again two nights ago. I am 34. Nice to know my bike responds the same no matter my speed. Oh, and I was on a 2004 V Star 1100 Silverado too!

i believe i was 19 and on a 1992 honda cbr 600f2 . very first streetbike ,had always been on dirtbikes beforehand. been on the bike something like about 2 or 3 hours , didnt have an endorsement, but i just had to know what 100+ felt like! ahhhh i can still remember that perma grin afterwards, and it got to be a wild, wild ride for years after that. hard to believe im still alive sometimes!! thankfully my sense of self preservation has grown since ive gotten older! (sort of ) ;)

It was 1966 and I was 19 yo, never able to hit the ton on my '59 BSA A7 I got a '57 BSA A10 Super Rocket and fulfilled my need for speed all around the Miss. gulf coast 'til I shipped out to Vietnam.

The ton on a 1992 honda cbr 600f2, is what......third gear? ;D
Amazing machine.

The experience on an old bike is a whole 'nother thing. ;)

Pretty much everyday I owned my 04 gsxr600 I did the ton. First time on a cycle was my 94 zx6e when I was 21.

On my current RD350. Not yet. 65 is scary enough for me.

In a car: 16 in my moms mercedes. Hit the governor at 135 before I let off.
On a bike: My friends CBR 600 when I was 18. He said not to go over 80, it was waaaay too much fun and a wide open interstate. Looked down going 140, about shat myself and let off the throttle ::)
