How the hell did this thing get bid up to 2,650????!!!

What did we miss? It's a trendy Café Racer. Everyone wants one. Who cares if it's legal or comfortable. It's the fad of the month. Didn't you get the memo/ email/tweet ?

Obviously, I'm being sarcastic, but it does tend to look that way.

Its just a cb200 tank with a neat (as far as I can tell from the half assed pics) paint job. Its cool, but nothin too special.

It took a lot of thought and effort to remove a bunch of stuff then jam a CB200 tank on it ;)
Hey, if it sells, I'm putting my 360 up for $12,000 ;D ;D

this bike was right down the road from me, like literally 2 blocks . The guy had it on craigslist for the past 6months to a year, it's a nice looking bike; but who wants to buy something thats already been so heavily personalized. someone who doesn't want to do the work i guess...

i think mostly the people who have the money to buy a really well done bike are too worried about return on investment to buy something customized, unless it was customized by a "known" builder. they will generally only put big money into a resto

It's probably the oldest trick in the world since eBay started, have your friends bid on it wink wink.

That's what I was thinking. Keep an eye out and see if it get's reposted.

Thank you Caferacer TV.
Unfortunately this is just the beginning, for the next several years we're going to see 'classics' go for ever elevating prices. Good for a few, bad for most of us. I have little doubt that the 'trendsters' will start scooping up anything remotely crusty. It's inevitable and even more unfortunate, since these bikes are more attainable than a $40k stretch/rake/glow-n-da-dark chopper.....they're going to disappear in alarmingly short order.
Now, for those with little heart...it's a time to cash in on that only clunker taking up space in the shed. If you really truly dig old bikes....you're screwed matey-O!

Just don't cross the US/Can border and plunder our old bike resources. We don't get the show up here.

Rocan, I do a lot more reading than posting and perhaps you should do the same as every one of your commments is completely asinine. Maybe when you have something trully worthwhile or valuable to add, I will have a little more respect for you and your posts.

Hey Everyone, Discount bikes in CANADA!!!!

And you know if you separate the motor from the frame it can be transported as "parts". Muahahahahaha. Lets for 2 teams. 1 will move the motors, the other everything else. We'll re group in Buffalo or with our western PA mates to reassemble our Canadian booty. Swagger, you're in charge of west coast operations. You guys in the southern USA start researching what we can pull out of Mexico. And I mean motorcycles here folks...

We are already hoarding bikes + parts here in the west Penn. VonYinzer is in charge of the 350's, I have the 175's under control, Beatnic is losing his grasp on his "Suzuki only" garage with a couple Hondas mixed in, and we have other members that wish to have their identities hidden.....

We'll have to get a solid supply line going between Cleveland and Western PA. We're sitting on a stash of CB350 parts. A running, complete and titled 79 XS650. A running complete and titled 78 GS550. A soon to be running CB350 that needs a bunch of cosmetic work. We're scanning CL everyday for more candidates. Gotta stuff the garage to weather the price increase. At this point we're grabbing everything we can to at least have stuff to sell or trade to be able to get parts for the ones we want to work on.
