How to? Ignition Bypass CL450

When I picked up my CL450 last week, the ignition tumbler fell apart and all the pins fell out along with the little springs. Now when I put the tumbler in with the key, it just turns over and over and don't know where the "on" position is. I don't have a battery in it right now, I'm just trying to kick start it but without knowing if the ignition is on makes it kinda hard. I know it could probably just be replaced with another key/ignition switch, but I'm thinking about just putting in a toggle type switch and eliminating the whole ignition lock. That's to be determined, but I want to get the thing started. Does anyone know which wires to connect within the ignition switch to complete the "on" circuit and help me get this thing running?

Thanks!

Connect the red and black wires in the ignition plug. That's the on position.

If you don't have one, you can get a wiring diagram here.

I found this one the other day and printed it off. It's much better detail than what came in my manuals. Red and black on the switch and the 2 brown ones tied together. Now all I gotta do is find a cool switch and a sneaky place to put it!

i would never run only a toggle switch...

unless if it was a race bike.

A bike without the need for a key is like an enzo sitting on the corner of a bad neighborhood with the engine running and the door open.

I'm flattered that you'd call my bike an Enzo, but I don't think it would be that big of a problem :) It's not the safest way of doing things, but if it's a well placed switch, no one would know where it is or even what it does. I see your point though, thanks for the suggestion.
