How to measure pod filters?

Simple question; my carbs are 46mm on the inside, what size pod filters should I need? Do I go for a pod with a 47mm inside flange diameter and fit them, then tighten them up?

You'll need to measure the outside of the carb, not the inside.

If the outside diameter is 48mm, go for the next size up. That way you compress the rubber when you mount the pod, not stretch it which can lead to cracks.

Cool. So if my outer is say 48mm then I would go for a pod with an inner diameter of 49 right? Thanks for the fast replies!

Go to the Dennis Kirk Web site, put in the year and model of your bike, and it will tell you what filter you need.
