Been riding since I was 14 mainly off road, currently have a fleet of boring bikes. I've been thinking of building something fun and classic, was getting turned off by all the $1500 basket cases. Finally scored a complete 1977 XS650 and a spare engine for $100! Gonna build it up street tracker style. Been gathering bits before the snow flies...it's gonna be a long cold winter!
I love this site and the laid back atmosphere, I can't wait to dig into this project. Happy wrenching!

Hasn't turned a wheel since 1988, tires are rotten but both engines turn over. I'm going to get it running first, then strip it to the frame and powdercoat it. Already have a Pamco ignition system for it as well as carb kits and misc bits. should have it lit up in the next few days. Ton o' fun! HA!
