Hudson Valley Ride-In feedback wanted

What better time than the bowels of winter to plan a Café Racer get together?
I'm trying to get thoughts on planning an event in the lower Hudson Valley. Mostly I want to know if anyone would show up.
The venue I like is a picnic area on the Hudson River (NJ side) in Palisades Interstate Park, at the foot of the Palisades cliffs. Sometime in early October, since in the summer there is a $5 parking fee. My ideas are map handouts to POIs in the area (Harriman State Park, Perkins Drive, West Point and possibly NYC), a barbecue, and maybe a trophy or two for the most interesting bikes. Very informal -- kind of a make your own fun thing. I'm not into holding hands and neither are my riding buddies. I think you get the point.
Got lots of time to mull this over, so how about some feedback?
Thanks.

Sounds fun..

Just a heads up.. First weekend in Sept. Labor Day Weekend is the 3rd annual Rockers Re-Union In Connecticut... Its always a blast and it gets bigger every year.. Bands are being schedualed now and should be posted shortly!!!

Cheers

in early 1960s we would go from pok. main st. triumph-bultaco shop out 55, to noxon rd. to carl emers farm house go left on ct-21 go under parkway to la grange past 82 east noxon past 55 right up the mountain roads ct-21 past clove valley rd - to dover < old drag strip> to wing dale past 22 to old 22 north to 55 right east, left on weback to gatlordsville conn. left on 7 north. river on left call housatanic ??? ??? take all way to lime rock rd. 112 left to millerton 22 north to 199 left west to 82 left south to stanfordville to 44 to pleasant vally to arlington 55. then all your vintage now was new. i remember the rd. to dover was a good test of gearing and cable pulled drum brakes. had a new triumph daytona 500 twin carb. ran good! but stoping was fun comeing down mt. to wingdale. shift on right. balanced better when panic down shifting was needed. been over 30 years still miss those roads lined with field stone, small bridges, covered bridges, fewer cops, in n.y. but every little town in conn-mass had a constable waiting at town border 30-35 mph. but each town had cafe. ......have a good ride..... roy...high conn. rockers we meet again.

Hey man! I'm in NYC but spent last summer craving an upstate trip, but with only a CB350 and my first year back on a bike since I was 15 (15 years ago) I didn't wanna try it alone! I would be totally down for any rides this year, providing you can handle the pace of a 350!

I'll be back in Montreal for school in October, but would totally be up for a meet up/ride sometime this summer. I'm based in New Paltz, with family in Hyde Park...lots of great riding in the area. Catskills/Shawangunks would also be a nice destination.

And Roy, I'm trying your route as soon as the bike's back on the road in the spring!

New to the site, been lurking a bit. Anyway I'm out of lower Dutchess County and always looking for a ride! Yes there are nice backroads around here. Got a 75 Yamaha RD250 ready to go. Someone set something up, I'm in!

I am over in Plattekill trying to get some buddies going on their bikes and trying to get mine going myself but either way I am down for a meet up and some rides when this crappy weather finally breaks up!
