I am spent!!! Wiring woes......

AzHonda

Coast to Coast
I have been studying and studying the wiring schematics for my CB360 and I am now at a loss.

My situation is when I bought the bike the electric start never worked as well as the rear parking light (which is the Spartan model from DCC). Brake light would come on but not the parking. Since I tore this bike down to the frame, I have since painted and powder coated everything I wanted to and reassembled the bike. I now have an after market headlight switch from DCC as well as a new push button start switch.

I just read the thread below with the push button starting problems on the guys CB350. I have the yellow/red hooked up to its mate coming from the push button but still no go. I know the starter works, I have also replaced the solinoid in the build process. I also cannot get the parking light to come on. I know it's hard to diagnose things without being there or having pictures, maybe I just need to rant because I am pissed I cannot get this figured out myself. I would hate to have to take this into the shop to get it fixed. Just defeats the whole purpose of this build. Electrical is just not one of my strong points.

Any ideas? If not, thanks for listening to my whinning.

Hey, I think you might be referencing the post that I sent out. So... do you positively know that the starter works? If you don't know, try using a wrench or something metal and connect the top two mounts on your starter. That should allow for the current to flow and see if the starter is working, but be sure to wear some gloves so you don't give yourself a shock. The guy I bought the bike from was using an old wrench to get my bike started.

If you know that it's working you can move up to front of the bikes wiring harness in the headlight.

What I had been recommended to do was to go into my headlight. Find the LG (light green for me) wire that runs to the horn and plug that into the R/Y wire (the main wiring harness wire) that would normally be connected to the starter button. Does you bike still have a horn and does it work? The issue you might be having is what was posted before me. If you don't have the other end of the starter button grounded, it won't complete the circuit and won't start. Try the horn button and see if that works. If it doesn't you may have another issue in the wiring harness.

Also, silly question, where do you go to set up the link to the project bikes that you have set up under neither the things that you post?

I need to stop spamming the help forums, but want to show my progress. Any help would be great.

-Cheers

I will look into that with my bike. The starter does work. I have a feeling it probably is not grounded. Horn works as well.

As for linking your builds. Start a build thread and then go into your profile and I believe that is where you can link it.

Have you scraped away all the paint/powder coating from the ground points on the frame?
