so today i bought myself a 1975 honda cb125. needs some work but came with spare frame and engine and carb! bonus! electrical is wack though. if anyone has an electrical copy of the cb125's manual itd be great! i have no idea where any of it goes. also what are some easy ways to clean up all the wires and a nice place to hide the battery? im making it a cafe so ill have a rider bump at the back... maybe in there?

Congratulations, fun bike! I had a 74 cl125 back in the day and it was a blast but I rode it on trails in the woods. Wiring is simple and you can easily find diagrams by searching google images.

We need pictures ;D

You might check into gel batteries so you can lay on it's side and save some height but yes, under the bump stop is one option.

is there any way to cut down on wires? there is a ton on the bike but really seem like they have no use. (note*** all signal wires and shit have been taken off)

If you live in a state where you dont need turn signals, and dont mind ditching the starter you can strip a ton off of the wiring harness.

Well I'm sure that they really do have a purpose but yes, a bike needs only a couple wires to run. If you want it to charge a battery then it needs a couple more. If you want turn signals... then thats a couple more front to back. What?!?!?! you want a headlight and brake light... that's a couple more... :)

They do add up don't they?

congrats, the small bore bikes are the way to go! just a thought, if you plan on modifying the electrics etc, you may consider switching over the a 12V system. There is a good write-up on the Yahoo! CB125 group and also some other info spread across the internets. If you don't upgrade it, don't worry, it'll be just as slow as a 12V CB125!

too bad you couldnt run it without a battery and use a magneto system haha. make my life a ton easier! definately ditching turn signals. and my problem is i need to find a headlight and tailight and also a horn so i can comlete it.

PM me your email address and I'll send you a copy of the Honda CG 125 manual that covers that period,
It's as near as dammit the same except it uses an OHV driven top end.
