I Can Make This Work - CB360T Cafe Build

Selloutlabel

1978 Kawasaki Kz200 Project
I've built a few other mildly modded "Cafeish" bikes in the past couple years. Ive had a 79 Kz400 and a 78 Kz200. Loved my Kawasaki but i thought i'd try something new. This is my first Honda and its going to be a lot of work but i think its going to be very much worth it. After a 2 year reprieve of no motorcycles i got the hankering and posted up a WTB Thread and found a frame with a clean title. I've found myself a 1974 Honda CB360T frame, sort of a roller, the front rim was there and the rear rim was disassembled. It came with forks, triple tree, and extra set of forks so i said hey what the heck not sure where or when i'll get a motor so i purchased the titled frame and brought it home. As it so happened i found a lonely little craigslist post listing a cb360 parts bike mostly complete. I said hey broke the bank and spent the 300 on it since it was exactly what i needed, loaded it up into the vw wagon mobile (this is not a new site for me, being truckless). So here it is folks some pictures.

Started swapping over a few parts, wiring harness should be cake, i've got a schematic i'm going off of to redo the whole thing, cutting out turn signals and most everything that isn't needed.

Really need to get a bike lift, but the milk crates in garage will work for now.

Plans are to detab and shave most of the frame, upward swooping rear hoop, get some clipons, update the ignition coils, and rear sets using factory passenger mounting points, tuck and hide most of the wires. I'm thinking cream white and black colors keeping it simple with a few accents of polished aluminum and copper. would really like to hardline my fuel lines in copper and cover any wires that do show in copper piping.

Hey Matt!

Here is the direction I'd like to head with the paint scheme. My old kz200 I really liked how these colors were working together and never got to complete this so I'm going to try again. And polish as Much bits of the motor as I can

What's up guys, did some grinding and cutting and some welding on the bike this past weekend. I've detabbed a little bit on the frame and also shortened rear end by cutting about 4 inches off rear hoop and rewelding it into rear end at a slight angle. Also started shaving the stamped steel. Plan is to open up backbone and run harness through the frame.

Btw I'm a really sloppy stick welder and this was all I had at the house so I used it. It's holding just fine

I'd like to come back over the rear hoop with a mig as I can make it much cleaner

I'm happy with how the rear is looking now. Close to stock frame but just enough custom for me

Also dug into wiring harness and removed turn signals from harness. I need to really slim it down to fit in the frame like I want it to

Seems we're on the same project at the same time. Beautiful bike. Subscribing now. Good luck! Here's the link to my build thread.
