1978 Kawasaki Kz200 Project
I've built a few other mildly modded "Cafeish" bikes in the past couple years. Ive had a 79 Kz400 and a 78 Kz200. Loved my Kawasaki but i thought i'd try something new. This is my first Honda and its going to be a lot of work but i think its going to be very much worth it. After a 2 year reprieve of no motorcycles i got the hankering and posted up a WTB Thread and found a frame with a clean title. I've found myself a 1974 Honda CB360T frame, sort of a roller, the front rim was there and the rear rim was disassembled. It came with forks, triple tree, and extra set of forks so i said hey what the heck not sure where or when i'll get a motor so i purchased the titled frame and brought it home. As it so happened i found a lonely little craigslist post listing a cb360 parts bike mostly complete. I said hey broke the bank and spent the 300 on it since it was exactly what i needed, loaded it up into the vw wagon mobile (this is not a new site for me, being truckless). So here it is folks some pictures.
Frame in car
The Sort-of Roller titled Frame
with front wheel on
the parts bike to pick up
booty shot
side shots she dirty and dented
Started swapping over a few parts, wiring harness should be cake, i've got a schematic i'm going off of to redo the whole thing, cutting out turn signals and most everything that isn't needed.
Really need to get a bike lift, but the milk crates in garage will work for now.
Plans are to detab and shave most of the frame, upward swooping rear hoop, get some clipons, update the ignition coils, and rear sets using factory passenger mounting points, tuck and hide most of the wires. I'm thinking cream white and black colors keeping it simple with a few accents of polished aluminum and copper. would really like to hardline my fuel lines in copper and cover any wires that do show in copper piping.
