Started 3-4 weeks ago regarding Cafe Racers and just bought manuals, magazines, cleaned out 2nd Garage and went crazie buying bikes.... its an effin disease!!!!!!!!!

Glad to see you're pickin up the photobucket deal, but if you just copy and paste the "img" code under the pics on photobucket, it will show the actual pic instead of the link.

thx for the info.......there's nothing like going home after a hard days work and looking at my machines and feeling its all worth it...lol

thinking on replacing tank with an older tank I just got:

Just learned from research that I have to appply Kreem to salvage it and maybe sand blast outside rust, or maybe sanding it by hand? Any suggestions?
 
Some people swear by Kreem, some are completely against it and go with POR-15.

If there isn't any body filler on the tank, you can use aircraft stripper to get rid of the paint. Depending how bad the rust is, sandblasting might be a little excessive - a small steel brush might work well.
 
dont sandblast. use a lighter media, or a brass wire wheel. sandblasting incorrectly could damage the tank.

Thx Big R, very helpful info for a newB like me. may try smal steelbrush first, as Mr. Miagi once said ...."small circles Daniel-Son"

just brough the tank for prep and paint to a guy I met a year ago in my town (kept his bzness card) and realized we had lots in common about cafe's....he is actually a DTT member...funny how small this world is... cafe's are completely unknown in our town... we will be the pioneers
