Well i'm all set to paint my tins BUT have come up against a brick wall.

Ya can see (kinda) my colour choices for the bike here

http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=44598.0

But i'm having trouble with deciding what to do.

I "kinda" have an 'Art Deco' theme in mind for the fenders & side covers, the tank has me stumped tho' and it's too big to be 'all' one colour.

I'm a car painter / airbrush artist of 30 years and i ALWAYS have problems with colours / designs for my own stuff, so have decided to put it out there to see if anyone has any ideas.

Re: I hate making colour & design decisions.

How would a blue look against the orange? then toss some white and a touch of black on there....just an idea....I kinda like the OG blue the tank came with

Re: I hate making colour & design decisions.

Beleive it or not mate, that "orange" is a Standox copper/brown pearl tinter/toner.

The blue that was on the bike is just some crap the PO chucked on.

Not too keen on blue mate but keep the ideas flowing.

Re: I hate making colour & design decisions.

maybe a Blueish green (thats what google spit back at me when i typed colors that go well with copper) they also suggested orange....Maybe RED tho....i have a red problem

Oh! Fer fuck sake! Yer stuck on color? Get some of your gay buddies involved. They'll have a polished sense of aesthetics and have the balls to make a decision. Sheesh!! ;D

Why do you feel compelled to be offended by my sense of humor. Go fuck yourself, eh.

And yet, it is not me resorting to adolescent name calling, is it?

Just having a bit of a go at ol' Alpha. Sorry for messing around in your thread...

Re: I hate making colour & design decisions.

Oh... And as far as paint...

Black with a TON of copper flake in it and a big off center racing stripe in the frame color.

Not much...
Von Yinzer called me a douchebag for making a tongue-in-cheek wisecrack.

Re: I hate making colour & design decisions.

I get the same way with my stuff. There are so many combinations that I like, it's hard to decide.

Based on the color of your frame (which looks great!) what about a dark bronze for the tins and use some copper foil the some graphics or stripe, and then use the matching orange / brown from the parts for pinstriping.

Love your colour choices so far. While everyone is entitled to paint their bike whatever colour they want, I hate to see boring choices. So many all black bikes on the road! Someone on here once posted 'if you are gonna go do all that work to strip a frame and repaint, why paint it black?' Your frame looks awesome!

+1 on the gay helper! Queers are very good with colour. And dancing with themselves in the mirror. Very funny to watch.
