I just got a look at the Duro tire that is a Pirelli MT53 copy

Been Around the Block
The tires were 4.00-19s that a friend got for his Triumph street/tracker. They are labeled as 6 plys, but from what I checked out they didn't seem much stiffer in the sidewalls than most 4 ply tires I've used. They seemed to have decent flex. They looked a WHOLE lot like the MT53 that was on my old Sherpa S short tracker. The real question would be if they have a decent rubber compound. I may have to try them on the SR if they make a 3.50-19 and a 4.00-18. I feel kind of all "experimenty".

So today I was in contact with David Clemons, an account exec with Duro tires. I was asking about the 3.50-19/4.00-18 tires. I think they make them but I don't know if you can get them in the US. That was my reason for contacting them. I gave them feedback on both my Median 903/904s (incredible dual sport tire especially for the cost) and the 918 street tires I have on the Zephyr (not overly enthused needs softer compound maybe). I told him that the tire was a dead ringer for the old Pirelli MT53 and that it could be a great seller for street/trackers, cafe/clubmans, and any 60s 70s vintage bike people. I'm hoping they listen and I hope the tires are available here.

I learned that there are both 4.00-19 and 4.00-18 Duro HF 308 tires (Pirelli MT53 replica) available from http://www.tiresunlimited.com/default.htm. $42.00 for the 4.00-19 and $36.33 for the 4.00-18. I think they can get a 3.50-19 if called to do so. I'm going to try to do so soon.

Found this at cedar rapids tire. a couple bucks cheaper but they only have the one size. But check out hte classic series. I'm putting em on the 200 and they really look the part. These guys usually have great prices too.

There ought to be a tire thread if there isn't already, one of the hardest things is finding the right tires.
