But aren't bikes just a fantastic mode of transportation? Safety considerations aside, I just feel so much more free on a bike. When I'm in my car going somewhere, it seems all about the destination and I never realized how much of the journey I was missing until I got my first bike last year. Hell, I even look forward to work during the summer months because I can ride to and from. :D

my next bike will be an xr250 or xr400 with some nice knobbies on there in great running condition but to be used as a beater, so i can ride YEAR ROUND, snow or not.

I've seriously considered an old xl600, maybe xr650l, or maybe even a klr650, depending on how deep by pockets get, for just that reason.

Such a great idea. I've got an old SL125 laying around, but a 400 would be sick!

i would have a BLAST on that things... build it light and simple, and not be afraid to drift it around turns/drop it. especially in NYC, its good to have a "beater" bike.

i got lucky and ended up in So Cal some how. I had to drive my truck last week when it rained... It took about 30 seconds to find the ignition! lol

One of the coolest things about riding a race rep is that I don't see anything under me or around me, just the backs of my hands and the tach in my peripheral vision. That's the riding position I chose for my cafe project!

I beg to differ. I made this at work in '05. I had meant to type "It's how fast you get there that counts". When me and my buddies rode, we didn't do no sight seein'. Ha!
