I need a junkyard in MS/LA/AL gulfcoast?????

mercuno

what did I get myself into
I blew up google and came up with a list of vanishing yards...
Anybody know of a good picking yard down here???

Did you try Clancy's in Gretna, LA? You'll have to dig there. They don't have that many bikes left but they have alot of parts.

they don't answer the phone, at least when I have called. They are on Destrehan Ave. Right off of the westbank expressway bridge. How far away from there are you? I think that they are open on saturdays.

OH YEAH!!! I just got off the phone with them and they seem pretty darn cool. They had the specific parts I was looking for and the prices sounded awesome. says he has plenty of mid 70's stuff layin around. man o man I am going there on saturday...they are open tues- saturday.

There's also Rad's Cycles, 2606 Nicholson Drive Baton Rouge, LA. http://www.radcycles.com/

I've never been to either one, but I hear that both are known for having everything you ask about in stock... until you get there.

if you look at the bing maps Birds eye view you can see they had a fair amount of bike then but on google satellite, it's like it is now. If they have 100 bikes there it's alot. I didn't ask what happened to all of the bike when I was there last, maybe they tore them down for parts? I do remember as a kid when they were under the Huey P. Long bridge that they had a ton of bikes at that location. It's probably worth the trip, I'm sure you'll find something.
Also look up G N Gonzales around the Baton Rouge area. My dad told me that back in the day he was THE Honda Distibutor for the Central American region and always had a ton of stuff there. Mr. Gonzales died a few years back but his sons are running it now. They may have some NOS stuff.

I would try to stay away from rads, i called and asked if they have any cbrs with rearsets on them (they had plenty) and I get there and start looking and I find a few off of some early cbrs most of witch are bent, and he's trying to charge me $400 bucks for them proceeds to give me a speech on how "there worth double that" and "you will never find them that cheap anywhere, not even eBay" needless to say i would rather give my business to someone who is not trying to sell overpriced crap.

and as for g.n. gonzales, they have a ton of old Honda parts, most of witch are brand new, there nice and helpful people with great prices

I don't know of any on the Al coast or really anywhere near me. My shed and attic might qualify though!
