These are the very rough results from my attempt to make a seat that will a) hide the battery and b) have a removable portion that hides a seat for a 2nd rider. Now I think I'm realizing that it is huge! I guess it won't look quite so big when the seat pan has an inch of foam and upholstery on it. But I can't tell anymore, I need fresh eyes. Anyone have any opinions? I really don't want to have to start all over with the fiberglasss....
Personally, I think your right, it's huge.
If you take a curved line from somewhere around middle of tank to seat you'll see it doesn't 'flow' very well. Sometimes that works but not in this case.
If youre not going to glass over it, i think it looks ok. As long as it doesnt get any higher than it is now. If you want to make it smaller, i think cutting it down right where the "lip" is at the front of the bump stop would be a good place to do it.
I think it looks to big because the belt line is to low. If th size of the hump is ness to hide all the things you need to put in there, raise the seat area up a couple of inches. look at the top pic and imagine that the subframe is partialy exposed and the seat area statrs at the bottom style line of the tank and goes all the way up to the factory bends for the stock seat in the rear of the tank. I think you would be good to go, and easy to do. Does that make sence?? Also I always find it helpfull to print a picture and draw opions with pen and white out.
I had to be in the office all day so I had some slack time. Did a little redneck photo shop, this is only changing seat hight. Not trying to design your bike it just peeked my interest
