I picked these 74 2-stroke CZ175's today and I couldnt believe my eyes when I picked them up!!!!!! I bought them from an older guy (maybe in his 70's). To my surprize 1 of the bikes had 2 miles on it and the other had 192 miles on it (I put a mile on it riding around the block today ;D )

Heres the story:

The guy bought these brand new in 1974 for his wife and himself to ride around on their 20 acres. The very first day the wife almost dropped the bike and sprained her ankle. He rode his around for about 6 months and decided to put them in his dry storage and winched them both up in the air. There they say for 34 years!!!

I took them home and cleaned out the carbs...bought a new battery for both....2nd kick and VROOM!!! Just like new! These bikes are oil injected like the Yamaha RD's so they are almost no maintenence.

There is a dent in the tank of the bike with 193 miles on it and I plan on giving this one the Cafe treatment. The other one will be left alone to be an example of a new bike from the early 70's ;) I think I might get stuck by lightning if I do anything to the other one.

The other one with 2 miles should be in a Museum!! It looks like it came off the show room floor!!! I am stoked! Both original titles still have the 74 registration sticker in the plastic and they both come with the original owners manual. They never put the plates or reg stickers on because they were only going to use them on their own property.

Sorry to ramble on....but I guess I'm just really excited about these bikes and I just got lucky finding them!

I'll post some pics when I'm done withe the cafe project!

Holy crap. I think this qualifies for The Score of 2008. Lets see more pics! Awesome little bikes and seriously, the find of a lifetime.

Best deal I've gotten so far! Since they were off the ground, the original tires dont even have any dry rot. They still look brand new! ;D I just pulled the air filter and the side panels off the bike with 2 miles. The side panels still had protective clear wrap on the inside of them and the filter looks like it came right out the the packaging. I still cant believe I found these!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!! That's truly amazing!! You should put the one with 2 miles on it back into storage. That's unbelievable that it truly is a "new" bike. Can't wait to see what you do with them either way.

Great score!!

NICE!... man, i think you need to hang that 2 miler up again, just like the old guy had it.

hehe, mount it on the wall like art.

I started pulling one apart last night sor the cafe tratment. I'll start a new thread in the projects section :)

i say keep em both stock. get yourself a crappy bike to mod out. but your prolly gonna cafe it anyway.... just be able to reverse all the mods!

Yep...Already started the cafe process. But I agree, everything will be reversable. I just have to put the fender back, shocks, handlebars, rear sets, and the original seat back on.

I swapped the original shocks with some KZ400 adjustable shocks. it gave me another inch of height to the rear. I sandblasted all of the crud off the KZ400 shocks and cut the top chrome housing down to slim it down After the sandblasting process...they came out looking new again.

I shaped my seat with some foam and glassed it. I glassed in some bolts to mount the seat directly to the cross-member of the frame.

This one is the bike that had a dent in the tank. I'll be filling it in today and finishing the seat.
