Been Around the Block
So, I bought a 71CB350 on Saturday and I am concerned that I should have picked up one that was 72-74. It seems that there are more parts available.

My question is, can I swap a front end from the more desireable year span of 350's?

Or am I stuck with these forks and triple tree?

It can be done. You just have to swap the entire front end if you're going above 71. I have a set of 72 triple trees if you need them. let me know. I may have a few other pieces as well.

I will let you know for sure...I want to check with the guy I bought the bike from. He has a barn full of running/non running bikes and tons of parts laying around. He actually threw in some cl pipes for it when I mentioned that I was probably going to get some later.

That's a great guy to know! ;)

for sure...He is putting together a "dump run" for this weekend and told me to come by a dig thru it before he got rid of it.

I'm outside La Crosse, WI. Trust me! I will be taking anything of value and if I'm not going to use it I will post it up here for sale/free + shipping.

Jeez... Let me know if you come across any cool old headlights man. And thanks for listing the stuff here (if and when ya do).

will do...I am new to all of this and you guys have been very informative and helpful, it's the least I could do.

I too have a bunch of parts and would be willing to work out trades. I'll give yinzer first dibs though cause he's in the middle of a build.

How much would you want for the whole front end? Will I need the front wheel? What all do I need for the conversion? Sorry for all the questions. ;D

Im keeping my front end sorry...

Also, sorry for the jack here, but DJ, any chance you have those polished side covers we talked about?

I have the left side (sans stator cover) and sprocket cover so far. I just have to finish the right side.

I have most of a 72 front end. One of the fork tubes is bent, but the stanchions are fine. They'll need headlight ears as well.

What are you asking for all of it? I was planning on going with aftermarket ears anyway.
