I was witness to see a family lose almost everything today (Photos)

Wow, I had chills reading that Troy. Good on you for helping out like that, although I'm not surprised you did. You've always come across in your posts as a class act and someone that's always there to lend a hand. You're a great example.

Thank you for posting that.

Hey Deacon, he is kind of like a Newfie when you think of it. Troy is not a snobby American. He would give you the shirt of his back without a second thought. If you can make the GTG in July at his place you will meet a real class act. And when you meet his dad (Pap) you will know why. His Sons I would say are being raised right, although I only met one, the other was away studying to be a vet. he married a saint, all I can say about a woman who can put up with a bunch of retards showing up and spending like 5 days at her home. anyway, I have met a lot of people and the way Troy opened his home and shared with us was very much like the way all the Newfies I know act, and the way I was welcomed the one time I made it to the rock. He is an all around great person and one I am glad to call my friend. If/When you get to meet him, I bet you will be fast friends. We need more people like him and some of the others on DTT. Just ask his neighbor Jim :)

Troy I hope you know that saying you are like a Newfie is a huge Compliment, no matter how many jokes you may have heard. As people go they are some of the best out there.

Damn it Mike I work so hard on my reputation and you and the others go and ruin it, lol. No seriously man thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Your words made me feel good man. Between you Joe and all the others brought a tear to my eye. Proud to be a DTT brother

Ok I'd really like to shift focus. The family lost everything. I know its not realistic for most but maybe we can do a drive in our surrounding area. I think I can rely on Von Yinzer as a collection point. I can drive there maybe on Sunday or the first of next week to pick stuff up. I can also drive to Morgantown or towards grantsville/LaVale Md if someone in that direction has anything to offer.
Like I said the family lost everything. Here are the clothing sizes:

Boys Shoes: Size 6, Size 8 (mens), Size 9.5(mens), Size 10.5(mens)
Husband Shoes: 9.5 wide (works outside)
Wife Shoes: Size 9.5

Boy: Size 10 slim pants, Size medium youth shirt
Boy: Size 30 x 32 pants, Adult size small shirt
Boy: Size 32 x 32 pants, Adult Large shirt
Husband: Size 34 x 30 pants, Adult Extra Large shirt
Wife (Pam): Size 12 Long pants, large shirts

Troy, how about a paypal account that we could send something too that you could buy a Walmart card with or something? I have cloths and stuff I could send but shipping would suck. I would rather send a few bucks that could be used for something than pay Canada posts crazy rates. Let them know it is from your DTT friends/Family.

Let us know.

As I have stated on this board, Troy is a one of a kind soul. Well done, sir.

Just keep us informed on what they need, and we will make sure they get it.

A friend on mine had his 100 year old farm house burn to the ground last week, they have been married 1 year and are expecting there first child in 2 months. They lost everything, he doesn't even have clothes to work in, you never have any idea of what you can lose until it happens to you or someone you know.

All clothing sizes are also listed on my FB wall. If youre on FB, please share the note so others can help.

I also have some long sleeve shirts I can give up. I'd give him all I have, but they are mostly all torn and worn, so I'll give him my two good pairs.

Brother troybilt it always hurts to hear of a family having such a great loss but I am happy to hear that they are unharmed. You should definately be proud of your actions and quick thinking, you are a true Hero.

I will happily donate to paypal for the family.

Thanks for bringing us into the loop so we can help Troy... I am a believer in helping those in need.
Maybe I am missing it but is there an address to send things to? Can I just ship items to you Troy?

I would donate but.... I'm size 13 shoes and alot bigger in clothes (already on a diet)

sucks losing something expensive, but losing everything you've spent your life working for must feel like shit

my best wishes to the family.

Did I miss the shipping address?

We donate clothes and housewares every year right before Christmas, so anything like that is already gone. But I work for Keebler/Kelloggs as a truck driver. I could put together some boxes of snacks (Crackers, CheezIts, Cookies, Rice Krispy Treats, Nutrigrain bars, etc.) and send them out.
I know it's not a "need" item. But when you're eating PB&J sammiches every day, it's nice to have a cookie or two to chase it with ;)

Thank you so very much fellas. Can't tell you what this says about you all. Mike and a few others I reread what was said about me and my family and I don't take your words lightly. I just wanted to be clear on that. I'm honored and humbled that you think that much of us. Thank you all very much.

Well the funds are rolling in. I'll be sending a little pm to those who donated through paypal to thank you and also to let you know that we've received your generous gift. I know every penny will make a huge difference in this families life right now. You all never cease to amaze me. Someone who was just laid off from his job donated money. He said he had it stashed away on his paypal. I don't want to mention names but that is heroic my friend. And to all the others, you are heros too. I know times are tight. To open your hearts and wallets like you have just blows me away. Thank you!

For anyone wishing to send items please feel free to do so to my address:

Still collecting funds through
Paypal: poppaboof@yahoo.com

I was at the house this evening. All that remains:
